We engaged you and your team at Trend Contracting and Project Management at the recommendation of our architect, Claude Liger-Belair. Claude had noted that you were highly competent and completely reliable.
Our experience with you was all that and more. Renovation is always an uncertain process. You don’t know what you will find when you open your walls, and you can often find yourself changing plans in ways that increase costs or time. Both of these things happened to us, as you know. You discovered some nightmarish structural issues beneath the surface (cut joists, some asbestos) that required considerable intervention. Moreover, as we saw the plans unfold, we elected to make some changes to the plans.
It is in these circumstances that you really discover who you are working with. You always told us exactly what was happening, what the extra cost would be, and how it would affect the schedule. If anything, you were more careful about the cost of this project than we were! The work was done on time and within budget, and to a very high standard of quality, as the architect, the inspectors and one or two expert friends attested. When faced with changes, either by choice or physical circumstance, you solved them creatively and promptly. And the best thing was, you were always sensitive to our needs, and you always communicated. In addition, your team has great and honest guys, and they work hard and fast.
We appreciated how conscientious you were about both the quality and the cost of you work. You take pride in doing the job well, and that includes completing the work on budget and on schedule. We would wholeheartedly recommend Trend Contracting and Project Management. If we ever want to do any other renovations, we would like to hire you—or wait until you are available. It would be hard to imagine a better renovation experience.
